About ABT

Advanced Barcode Technology, Inc. designs and builds industrial display and process control hardware. The company is privately held, founded in 1992, with headquarters in Great Neck, New York and a sales and marketing office in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.

Why we can replace a Metco display

ABT was founded by Charles Bibas. Before starting the company he developed hardware and software for barcode readers at Barcode Industries, including the first interface for Federal Express’s barcode scanner application. He was then recruited by PerkinElmer Instruments’ Metco Division, where he built patented manufacturing process technologies for General Motors, Toyota, Lexus, Pratt and Whitney and Garrett, among others in the automotive and aircraft industries.

That is the direct reason the AT209CE LEGACY exists and why it drops into equipment the original manufacturers no longer support. Mr Bibas was educated at the Technion in Haifa, Israel, which awarded him a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
